Tom Scherr
was recently named to Delaware's 60th
Anniversary Team. Scherr,
the only current Blue Hen team member named to the all-time team, is
a third-year starter this spring and holds UD records for goalie
minutes in a season and career goals against average. The starting
goalkeeper for Delaware's 2007 NCAA Final Four team, he ranks No. 5
all-time at Delaware with 548 career saves.
Steve Hannon
is the Varsity Goalie Coach and JV Head Coach for The Overlake
School. He wants everyone to know that lacrosse is spreading
and extremely popular in the state of Washington.
MEN'S LACROSSE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Pat March,
Roanoke College
March, a sophomore from Glen Burnie, Maryland, scored
seven goals to go with five assists in a pair of high-profile wins
for Roanoke. He scored four times and dished out three helpers
including the keying pass on the game-winner in a 13-12
come-from-behind win over R.I.T. He helped key a 14-6 win over St.
Mary's with three goals and two assists. He also picked up six
ground balls between the two games. For the season, March has
scored nine goals to go with six assists for a team-best 15 points.
Jordan Kenney,
VA Wesleyan scored 9 goals in 2 wins with 7 ground balls. He
had 2 in the fourth quarter of an 11-9 win over Greensboro, and
netted the game winner in an 11-10 win over McDaniel.
Brendan
Mundorf, who was signed earlier this week by the New York
Titans (NLL), notched three goals to lead all Titan scoreres.
Tom Scherr, a 5-6, 165 lb. senior
goalkeeper from Owings Mills, MD (Mt. St.
Joseph's High School), will serve in the role as co-captain
for the second straight season in 2007. A two-year letterwinner, he
ranked No. 11 in the nation in goals allowed average (7.81) and No.
14 in save percentage (.538) a year ago and returns this spring as
one of the nation's top netminders with 25 victories and 371 saves
in his career. An honor student as a chemical engineering major, he
is a two-time Colonial Athletic Association All-Tournament
selection, a two-time team Sportsmanship Award winner, and a
two-time CAA Academic Honor Roll recipient. He is also an Academic
All-American candidate this season.
Mike Sutter
(MSJ 2004)
was named one of the team captains for the
2008 Washington College men's lacrosse team.
DJ Tayman
(MSJ 2002) was named the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference
Unsung Hero.

former Gael standouts will compete in this weekend's UMBC-Delaware
quarterfinal game at Navy. UMBC's
Jordan Pierce, Sam Eitel,
Tim Anderson (all from MSJ's 2006 team) and
Brandon Mathias (MSJ 2003) will
face Tommy Scherr
(MSJ 2003), and
DJ Widlake (MSJ 2006) of Delaware.
Regardless of the outcome, MSJ will be represented in this year's
final four weekend in Baltimore!
Tommy Scherr
(MSJ 2003) was named Inside Lacrosse/Faceoff Yearbook Preseason
All-Colonial Athletic Association, received the Delaware
Sportsmanship award, and was named Colonial Athletic Association
All-Tournament team.
Pat March (MSJ 2006) was
named Old Dominion Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year. Pat
is a freshman starting on attack for Roanoke College, he has 34
goals and 15 assists on the year.
Kevin
Benzing 2006 announced that he will be playing at Quinnipiac next
year. Kevin went to Butler following St Joe, unfortunately Butler
dropped its men's lacrosse program before the start of the season.
Kevin McDermott,
Brendan Mundorf, and Jason
Born have returned to their alma mater this year as Assistant Coaches
with the MSJ lacrosse program.
Joe Lambert is an
Assistant Coach at Yorktown High School (VA).
Tim Kerr is the Head
Lacrosse Coach at Kent Island High School.
Corey Reina
is the
Assistant Coach at Greensboro College, coaching the defense and goalies.

Two former Mount Lacrosse stars are
playing professional lacrosse.
Steve Berger (Long Island
Lizards,
Washington College), and Brendan Mundorf
(Denver Outlaws, UMBC).
Steve
Berger
started all 12 games for the Lizards and contributed 19 goals in 2006.
He is expected to be a huge part of the Lizards offense this season.
Brendan
Mundorf
scored 22 goals and dished out 7 assists in his rookie year, and was
named MLL rookie of the week for his 6 goals against the San Francisco
Dragons.

Former MSJ Lacrosse were players selected to play
in North South Senior All Star Games. Brendan Mundorf was selected
to play in the Division I/II North South Game and Dan Boyer,
Corey Reina,
and Tim Kerr have been selected to play in the Division III North South
Game.

Goalie Tommy Scherr (University of Delaware) was
named to the all CAA championship team after making 17 saves against
Towson in the semi and 19 saves against Hofstra in the CAA final.

Brendan Mundorf has been named the America's East
Player of the Year for the second straight year.

Dan Boyer (Salisbury) 1 of 23 college lacrosse players nominated for the
2006 Tewaaraton Award. Dan has 47 goals in 14 games for Salisbury, and
scores on 81% of his shots this year. He shoots .723 for his career.
