Welcome to Biology 520 at Mount Saint Joseph High School! I want to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you; sometimes this helps to relieve some of your concerns about "the teacher".
I began my teaching career in 1974 as a physical education and health teacher. Most physical education teachers have the opportunity to teach many subjects other than their main discipline. I have taught biology, physical science and psychology in addition to physical education and health. Today you will find me teaching biology to the freshmen "Mount Men" at Mount Saint Joseph High School.
My family is small but we all stay very busy. My husband is also an educator and we have one daughter, Caroline, who is a student at St. Agnes School. We live in the house my husband's grandfather built over 90 years ago. We also have a home in Ocean City where you will find me in the summer and most long weekends. The "old lady" buzzing Coastal Hwy. on her blue scooter is probably me! "Annie", our Scottish terrier, completes our family.
I love teaching at "The Mount"! Every day I come into school is another blessing. I truly enjoy the opportunity to work with each of my students. I also am completing a certificate program in educational technology at Goucher College. I hope to complete this program in May, 2004. I enjoy sharing my newly gained "tech" knowledge with my students and my colleagues.
I hope each of you has a wonderful school year! I will work with you to insure your success in Biology. Please feel free to see me after school in room 108 or email me with any concerns.
